Audio Production III
about
This course introduces the principles and practices of spatial audio and immersive sound design through a hands-on, project-based approach. It begins with acoustics and the physical properties of sound, then works through stereo, binaural, ambisonic, and multichannel formats using both historical and contemporary spatial audio technologies.
Alongside technical instruction in recording, mixing, and software such as REAPER and the Ambisonic Toolkit, the course builds critical listening, collaborative critique, and an awareness of spatial aesthetics in music, sound art, and cinema. Through progressively more complex projects — mono sound design, stereo and binaural recording, ambisonic mixing, and Dolby Atmos production — you develop the technical fluency and creative judgement to build convincing multidimensional soundscapes.
